SmartAfis is a fingerprint based identification system designed for medium-scale application (forensic or civil). SmartAfis core technology includes an indexer developed by Biometrika that enables the rapid and effective search of a person in a database of hundreds of thousands of fingerprints. SmartAfis is the ideal solution for applications which aim is to control the people within a limited area (city, region), or application for local police or organizations that need to identify non-collaborative people.
The wide sensing area and the high quality of the images acquired by HiScan grant the optimal performance of SmartAfis system. The sensing area of HiScan is 1”x1” with 500 dpi resolution: HiScan has been certified by the FBI according to the PIV image quality specifications.
The enrollment process enables the acquisition of up to 10 fingerprints. The acquired fingerprints are stored and indexed in an archive: the indexing operation enables a rapid and reliable identification process. SmartAfis also allows the storage of other data such as age, somatic characters and a photo for each person.
When a fingerprint has to be identified, SmartAfis performs a search operation. Thanks to the indexing system it is possible to reach an identification result in just few seconds. The search criteria can be further restricted by setting filters based on somatic characters, age range etc.
SmartAfis is the ideal solution for any application aimed at controlling people in a limited area (city or region). SmartAfis has been specifically designed for applications that require the identification of non-collaborative people.
The indexing system designed by Biometrika enables a smart search in the archive. The system grants a 90% probability that the person will be found in the first 3% of the searched archive. It means that if the searched person is present in the archive, the person will be found in a few seconds (even in case of a 100.000 fingerprint archive). When the search reaches the 33% of the archive without finding a match, this means that the user is not present. This search takes just a few minutes.
