BioCard SDK enables the storage of fingerprint templates and several other data on a Smart Card (called BioCard). BioCard SDK provides a very simple program interface and enables a rapid and effective integration of Smart Card technology in your application. This SDK supports any Smart Card Reader/Writer compliant with the standards, including those integrated in Fx2100 SC and Fx3100 SC. The storage of a fingerprint template on a Biocard is not mandatory.In other words, applications that do not require biometrics can also benefit from this technology. BioCard SDK provides a default security level but also enables the use of a stronger protection through the use of personalized keys for reading and writing operations. The Smart Cards supported by BioCard SDK, are very cheap and provide the highest security and compliance to international standards. Furthermore, BioCard SDK improves the interoperability among different applications, including Biometrika solutions such as Fx3000, FxLock, FxAccessControl.

Microprocessor Cards

BBioCard SDK enables the management of microprocessor cards: the operating system (COS) of the supported Smart Cards provides a complete set of primitives for security management and data access. Biometrika has designed a special Smart Card File System with the aim to provide a simple and secure way to store and manage fingerprint templates and other application-specific data. The card created with BioCard SDK are called BioCard.

Standard PC/SC

BioCard SDK supports any PC/SC compliant Smart Card Reader (PC/SC is the largely used standard for contact card). BioCard SDK can be used with any PC/SC reader including those integrated in the scanners of Biometrika: Fx2100SC and Fx3100SC

Data encryption and custom security

All data are encrypted on the card in order to achieve the highest security level. A set of access keys grants the security of all reading and writing operations. Beside a default security level, BioCard SDK also enables the creation of customized cards with custom keys. In this way, the security level is further improved

Reading/Writing template and data

BioCard SDK consist of a library that provides all reading and writing capabilities. Fingerprint templates and application-specific data can be very easily written and read, without the need of knowing PC/SC protocol and/or Card Specific (APDU) commands.

Interoperability

The same card can be used for different applications. BioCard SDK enables the creation of interoperable cards. Interoperable cards can be used for both custom applications and Biometrika solutions: FxLock, Fx3000, Password Bank, FxAccessControl.
